Is it okay to feed cat food to dogs? I’m a little short on cash this month and I have a lot of cat food, but I’m running really low on dog food.

The short answer is no, you should not be feeding your dog cat food over the long run. Remember to always consult your vet with these types of decisions though. Cat food generally features a lot more protein since cats are strictly carnivores. It could be bad for your dog’s liver and kidneys in the long run. A responsibility of a pet owner is to feed the pet food that is specifically designed for that species. So while I don’t think you will see any immediate negative results (other than typical stomach problems that comes anytime you change a dogs food), I would recommend getting dog food the next time you are able.
