Can I share my Thanksgiving dinner with my pup?

Just got our new puppy and with Thanksgiving coming up I was curious about what a dog can eat. I know a little bit of unprocessed turkey is ok, but what about sides like mashed potatoes? Can that harm our pup?

Congrats on the new puppy! Hope your aren’t spoiling the little one too much ;). A plain baked potato is ok for your dog to eat, but don’t let your dog eat raw potatoes or any potato plants from your garden. Keep in mind what you put in your potatoes. If it’s loaded with bacon, cheese, sour cream, onion, etc. you shouldn’t share with your dog. I suggest instead of giving your dog some of your food, you can make a special dinner just for them. You could even make a treat for your dog with your Thanksgiving leftovers.
