What to give a dog with an upset stomach and diarrhea?

My five-year-old Rottweiler started with an upset stomach a couple days ago, and just last night added diarrhea to the mix. He is still eating his food, and doesn’t seem to be in any physical pain, he’s just having trouble keeping his food down. Any advice?

I should preface this by saying that are our foremost advice is always to visit your vet, especially if the issue appears serious or is getting worse. Top things you can do between now and your vet appointment are:

  • Keep your pup hydrated with lots of water
  • Try feeding him food that is sensitive on his stomach: rice, boiled chicken, or baby banana food.
