I would lean towards taking him to a vet. My understanding is that once a dog is potty trained, the last thing they want to do is go to the bathroom inside. I think getting him medically cleared is your best course of action. I have had older dogs struggle with getting outside to the bathroom enough times, but I don’t think that is a factor with your three year old.

I’ve tried just about everything to take care of matted hair in my Goldendoodle and after many years I’ve come to the conclusion that professional groomers do a way better job that I can! Regular brushing is key, I now try to make sure he is brushed even when it doesn’t appear he needs it. Once the matting sets in, it is hard to take care of.

I made pumpkin seeds last night and my Goldendoodle Gary was all over them. I only gave him a few, but he seemed to love them.

My Goldendoodle looks a lot like Alf from the 1980’s TV Show, so that could be a fun option!

We have a family friend who will stay at our house, and they only charge $25 a night. I think this is very cheap, but again, it is a family friend, and they don’t treat it like a business. I would ask the new people what they are comfortable paying, perhaps something around $25-$40 a night would make sense for both of you.

If you like golf, there are plenty of great names for dogs: Tiger (Woods), Bear (Jack Nicklaus), Bubba (Watson), Hogan (Ben), Bobby (Jones), Scotty (Cameron), & Ryder (Cup). A few Hollywood-inspired options too: Noonen, Spaulding, & Shooter.

I’ve personally had Pets Best for about 5 years now I have no complaints. In 2022, I filed my only claim, and the process was straightforward. They paid out as they said they would. I would not hesitate to use them again if I get another dog.

I’ve found that many dog parents think scooting is related to a behavioral issue. While that can be the case, often it is a sign of a health issue like parasites or allergies. I would tell your friend to get that dog to a vet!

My parents did the same thing growing up. We had Nick, a Samoyed. When he passed, a few months later, my parents got another Samoyed and told us his name was Nick as well! I was pretty young, and my sister was even younger, so I’m not sure if they were trying to trick us or what. I’ll have to ask them about it!

There are many ways to get inspiration for a dog’s name. I would chat with your dad about his favorite things, places, sports, etc to see if you can come up with something creative that will also have a special meaning.

It is very important to crate train your dog correctly. As others have said, a crate should be a place of comfort and solace for your dog. But without the proper training, it is possible for your dog to feel stressed when it comes to staying in his crate.

Yes, dog car seats can be worth it for several reasons. They improve safety by securing your dog and reducing the risk of injury during sudden stops or accidents. And they can help reduce anxiety for dogs who feel insecure in a moving vehicle. Check out our reviews of dog car seats and harnesses to learn more.

I agree with the suggestion first to seek out an over-the-counter joint supplement. If it appears the pain is still there, talk to your vet because there are many prescription pain relief options for dogs, including Aspirin and Carprofen.

I second the recommendation for bamboo sheets! The fact that they are naturally hypoallergenic and antimicrobial is why they are the best to use with dogs, in my opinion. Plus they are so comfortable.

We also have an article detailing some things to think about before letting your dog in the bed regularly.
