Verified ParticipantMy dog LOVES to eat snow. She really likes catching snowballs and slurping on fresh snow. I only let her do this when the snow is fresh and only ever in my own backyard. That way, I know that it is safe and that there is nothing gross or dangerous underneath or mixed in.

Verified ParticipantMy dog suffered from chronic ear infections a few years back. He would often get a black discharge or dried waxy stuff in his ears. It was pretty gross, and we had to get some antibiotics to clear it out. It took a long time, too. I’d suggest a trip to the vet, even if the dog seems okay now. You don’t want that stuff lingering in the ears. Trust me, it starts to smell bad and becomes really tricky to get out.

Verified ParticipantHi Alex. Thanks for the info, super helpful! I am going to try Doggy Dan. I’ll let you know if we make any progress!

Verified ParticipantI’ve had some luck using coconut or olive oil on my dog’s paws. It can be messy, but it can help work the sap out.

I think so! Mine does this too, I always say he’s chasing squirrels! Mine will also make little whimpering sounds too, it’s the cutest!I think so too!

Verified ParticipantMy dog is also aggressive on the leash. I got one of those pinching collars, and it has really helped. Some of my friends told me I was mean, but I have seen a big change in my dog in just a short time. I talked to the vet, and they said the collar doesn’t hurt my pup, but it is not a good feeling, so it helps stop the behavior right away. I am hoping this helps me be able to take her for walks more often without fear she will be aggressive.

Verified ParticipantI have a Labrador who is a superb runner. He can go so fast that I can barely keep up. He loves to go far distances, and while I’m not an avid runner, he keeps up with me whenever I hike, jog, or walk fast. I think a Labrador would make a great running partner.

Verified ParticipantPersonally, I love the idea of naming a dog Cardigan, Albatross, or August, which are some of my favorite songs.

Verified ParticipantI use a crate for my smaller dog, which helps him feel safe when we are gone. But only for a few hours at a time. If we leave him out, he will get into too much stuff and rip apart the room because he does not like being home alone. So the crate is the safest place for him when we leave. We make it cozy and leave the TV on. He sometimes goes in on his own when too much is going on, or he feels stressed out. As long as the crate is big enough, and they are not in it all day, they are totally humane.

Verified ParticipantI think classic names make great ideas for dogs. I like things like Madeline, Edith, Tabitha, and Celeste.
