Rosie Pig in antler earsRosie Pig has been called “part chihuahua, part pig”! Of course she’s not really part pig! She got her most unusual name, because of the snorting sound her nose makes as she searches the floor for tidbits and crumbs dropped by her people!

Rosie Pig was discovered by her many fans when her video “Pour Some Sugar on Me” went viral. You’ve got to watch it. It’s only 6 seconds long but we’re sure you’ll watch it over and over like we did.

She regularly posts her antics on Vine, Instagram and Twitter. Rosie Pig has even been featured several times in articles on BuzzFeed, and in promotions for the dog mail order snack company, BarkBox. Rosie Pig has an insatiable love of life (and snacks) and she loves sharing her delicious world view with her many fans all around the globe!

1. Where did you get your name?

My name is very special to me. My family called me Rosie because I was as tiny and delicate as a little flower. The “pig” part came later. It seems that as I grew, I discovered my nose has superpowers! It has the ability to seek out and find even the tiniest of food particles dropped by people.

However, the noise that my nose makes as it searches, has been described by some, as pig-like. Hence my name, Rosie Pig.

2. Tell us the story of how you became famous.

My fame eludes me. My family finds my daily activities amusing. They often record me as I’m going about my business! Somehow this ends up on the Internet. I’m not really sure why I have so many fans, but alas, I do, and I love them all.

3. What is your all-time favorite outfit?

I have to admit, I love my Beyoncé wig.

4. What is your favorite treat?

Rosie Pig in bag of chipsI love all food equally.

5. What is your best video tip for aspiring dog stars?

Keep making videos! The more you make, the more chances you have to show off how cute you are.

6. What do you like to do in your free time?

A star like me has very little free time. However, I do try to find the time to enjoy a good snack.

7. Are you more of a social butterfly or a wallflower?

Have you seen my butterfly video? I think that answers your question!

8. Who’s your favorite celebrity dog?

Are there other celebrity dogs? 😉

9. What are you most proud of?

I think I am most proud of the fact that I am happy just to be me!

10. Anything else you’d like to add?

Thank you for your interest in me! I’ve enjoyed this interview very much! And of course, world peace!

Kimberly received her Bachelor of Arts in multimedia journalism from Simpson College. She has been writing about dogs since 2014, covering subjects such as dog insurance, training, health, accessories and more. Her natural curiosity helps her research as she seeks the truth when learning about, comparing and personally testing canine products and services. With every piece she writes, her goal is to help our readers find the best fit for their unique needs.

Kimberly grew up in a family that loved Labrador Retrievers and remembers running and playing in the yard with them as a child. In 2017, she and her husband adopted their Coonhound mix, Sally, from a local shelter. Kimberly's research was put to good use since Sally faced some aggression issues with other dogs and needed some training to be an inside dog. She worked daily with Sally and sought help from professionals to help Sally become the happy pup she is today.

One of Kimberly's favorite pastimes is spoiling Sally with new toys, comfy beds and yummy treats (she even makes homemade goodies for her). She tries to purchase the safest products for Sally and knows that each canine has their own specific likes and dislikes. Kimberly is passionate about dogs, and knows the bond between humans and canines is like no other.
