My family was in the Caribbean for vacation and a stray dog adopted us as his family for the week at our rental house. We want to rescue him and bring him home to live with us but don’t know what to do. Has anyone else experienced this? We’re desperate to save this pup’s life.

I feel you! I just had a similar experience while traveling with a cat who showed up at our rental villa abroad. Unfortunately, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention just implemented new restrictive rules about importing dogs into the U.S. Read my article about these new rules here. While it doesn’t apply to cats, it does for dogs. Hopefully, the CDC will revise these rules. Just my thought!

Thanks for sharing that. Yeah, those rules are rough. We ended up not rescuing the poor dog — too difficult. Hopefully, he’ll find someone who can.
