Frank is my sister’s dog, and we’re watching him for the month while she’s out of town. He’s a sweet, slightly grumpy middle-aged guy who enjoys long naps, staring out the window, and pretending not to hear you unless you say the word “treat.”
The problem? He won’t eat his kibble. At all. Not even a nibble.
We’ve tried it all: hand-feeding, mixing in wet food, adding broth, and even sprinkling a little shredded cheese on top. For the record, Frank licked off the cheese and left the kibble like it was beneath him. He’s not sick (we checked!), just…stubborn.
So what do you do when a picky eater is on a temporary vacation from their routine? We want to respect his diet, but we also want him to eat something before we resort to making him a pasta dinner. Do you have any tips for helping a middle-aged pup adjust to a new setting without skipping meals?
