How much do labradoodles cost? Do I have to buy from a breeder?

I am considering getting a labradoodle, but I have heard they are expensive. How pricey are they? My child has bad allergies, so I need a more hyperallergenic dog, and this seems like a good family dog. I would prefer not to get it from a breeder because they are more expensive, right? Is there any chance of finding one at a rescue or shelter?

Have you looked into Petfinder, Adopt A Pet, or any other adoption databases? You can filter by breed, age, geographical location, etc. If you’re not against traveling or waiting a bit, you can find one via these adoption sites. You can even create an alert to be notified when a Labradoodle becomes available.
