Okay, y’all have been so helpful with my other questions that I thought I would try again!
As I have mentioned in the past, my Jack Russell (25 lbs) Henry is anxious. Would a crate help him when I am away from home with his separation anxiety? I sometimes come home to torn-up toilet paper, pillows, rug corners… yep, he’s a real problem child but we still love him so!
Hi Summer,
Yes, a crate can help your dog with separation anxiety. Spending time crate training your dog and investing in the right dog crate for anxiety can help soothe an anxious pup. Two great options for a small dog crate are the Midwest iCrate, a great wire crate option, or the New Age Pet EcoFlex crate and end table. Learn about how to crate train your dog, choose the right spot for them in the home, and reward them when they do good. Be patient with your training and give them time, but most dogs come to love their crates and feel mush less anxious in them when you’re gone. Good luck!
