Can I get pet insurance before surgery?

  I wish I had thought of this before we scheduled my pup’s surgery, which is non-urgent/non-emergency) – basically removing a bone spur. I know there are exclusions for pre-existing conditions, but am I able to purchase pet insurance after a surgery has already been scheduled (that would then cover all or part of the surgical cost)?

  Unfortunately, insurance won’t cover this because it’s pre-existing.
