Do you need a recent vet exam for pet insurance?

MichaelJI’m still on the fence about getting pet insurance b/c it can be pricy. Do pet insurance companies require a vet physical exam before you can enroll your dog? Are there any other things these companies need to qualify for insurance?
lizbethI just signed my dog up for Pets Best accidents & illness insurance this month, and I did not need to provide any exam documents when enrolling. I believe it varies by insurance company though.
