I am adopting a new puppy and am doing some research first. I’m very worried about potty training. Are male or female dogs easier to potty train? Do you have any tips on how to get started? I’m pretty new to dog ownership.

I don’t have much experience in this, but I’ve been able to potty train my female dogs more easily than my male dogs. The males always want to mark everything and anything. I remember putting up our artificial Christmas tree one year being highly tempting to our male dog at the time.

I think it may depend on the breed. I had a male Pitbull that was easy to train, but my Chihuahua would pee on the carpet her whole life. I also know there are certain areas of the house where she peed more.
