Does pet insurance cover insulin?

If your dog was newly diagnosed with diabetes and thus, your pet insurance company does not consider it to be a pre-existing condition, it will be covered so long as your vet prescribes it. However, the percentage that will be covered may vary based on your policy’s coverage details.
On the flip side, if your dog was diagnosed with diabetes prior to signing up for your insurance, it will be considered a pre-existing condition by most companies and, thus, will be excluded from coverage.
