I am moving to a new house soon. Any tips for making the move less stressful for my dogs?

How can I make moving to a new home less stressful for my two dogs? One is old and very anxious, and the other is clingy with separation anxiety.

Try to maintain your regular routine as much as possible. And make sure your dogs are microchipped and have up-to-date tags on them! They may try to go back to their previous house or other familiar places and escape your yard. Having them easily identified will increase the chances of them getting back to you if they escape.

Have you looked into any supplements for stress support? Both me and my dog take CBD and it works wonders for anxiety. Definitely worth a try.

I’ve moved homes a lot, and the day before we move, I put my used bed sheets in their crate each time. This gave them a familiar smell and comfort during the move and in their new environment. And lots of snuggles and rest time when you can to reassure them. My older dog struggles with food when we go through change, so I give him plain chicken and rice in the evening to avoid upsetting/overloading his stomach. Stress really affects my senior dog, but my pup doesn’t care. Good luck with the house move!
