I have had my mixed-breed dog for 10+ years, and she never shedded much in the past. But this summer, her shedding has really picked up! Does anyone know why this would change? Any recos for how I can manage this new-to-me condition in my house? Thanks!

In our experience older dogs do tend to shed more (we’ve had this happen primarily with our lab mixes and Goldens). I’m guessing just because older skin doesn’t hang on to the hair as well. We’ve got several shedding brushes and just spend a little more time vacuuming. But also in our experience there isn’t an extreme change in shedding. If the shedding has increased drastically you may want to check with your vet and make sure there isn’t something else going on.
