I recently adopted a dog, and we’re working on training. I’m looking for some high value treats to encourage learning. So far, we tried cheese with huge success, but I’m wondering what’s worked with others. I realize a lot of this is based on the dog’s taste and dietary restrictions, but I would love to hear what gets your dog motivated. Bonus if it’s healthier than tons of cheese. 😅

Like you said, a lot of this will be dependent on your dog. Here’s some ideas to try:

• Blueberries
• Boiled chicken
• Dehydrated meat treats
• Peanut butter
• Scrambled eggs
• Squeeze tube cat treats
• Turkey breast
• Whipped cream

There are some dog treats specifically designed for training. I recommend giving a few of them a try.
