Verified ParticipantI love Taylor Swift pet names, probably because I’m constantly making up goofy songs about my pets, LOL. Olivia, Meredith, Grey, Gatsby, Lucky, Champagne, and Tennessee are all top contenders in my book.

Verified ParticipantOh how fun! What kind of puppy? As far as Taylor Swift dog names, for a boy, I would suggest August, Archer, and James. For a girl, I would suggest Betty, Inez, and Karma. You could also go with Trouble, Swifty, or Wiggle (Shake It Off). If you like punny Blank, Trouble Maker, Tay-Tay, Swif-berry, or T-Swizzle is always fun.

Verified ParticipantMy dog loves to dig, especially near the fence line, so one thing that’s worked for us is burying chicken wire a few inches down and covering it with dirt and rocks. It’s safe for their paws but uncomfortable enough to stop them from digging any deeper. As far as digging holes in the yard, I haven’t quite figured that one out yet.
Each spring, I also walk the yard to check for weak spots like loose boards, gaps, or anything that shifted over the winter. And since mine’s also a squirrel-chaser, I make sure there’s nothing nearby he could use as a launchpad. Those squirrels just never seem to stay out of the yard, and my guy can’t resist trying to catch them. I’d love some advice on how to keep squirrels out of my yard!

Verified ParticipantMy pup likes to put her paw on my leg whenever I look away from her. If I am sitting at my desk or at the table, she will sit next to me and put her paw on my lap. It’s like she is saying, “Hey, I’m still here!” The funniest part is when I look back at her, she will turn away and stare at the wall. I will give her a pat, and as soon as I go back to what I was doing, reading, typing, etc., she puts her paw back on my lap, and we do the whole thing all over again.

Verified ParticipantThanks for the suggestions. Thankfully he has stopped doing this so much, and I have also started really scouting out the area I let him walk and play for any poo first. Both vinegar and the baking soda paste worked. I also like the oatmeal shampoo; it keeps his coat soft and smells nice.

Verified ParticipantMy dog always barks at other dogs on the TV, too. She does it anytime she hears another dog, in person or not. got a new electronic doorbell, and one of the sounds was a dog barking. When my pup heard it, she went totally nuts! I assume she wanted to know where the other dog was. I think they recognize other dogs or at least the sounds and are curious, which is why they bark…like to say hi.

Verified ParticipantI spent a lot of time in New Mexico when I was a kid, which has some interesting small-town names. One is Truth or Consequences. I’d love to name a dog Truth after that little town. I think this could be cool for a boy or girl. Ojo is another one based on a small NM town. I also spend time in Arizona and like the name Tucson for a dog, boy, or girl. Bisbee is another fun one from AZ.

Verified ParticipantI think Phelps, for a boy dog, after Michael Phelps (the most decorated Olympian), and Jenny, for a girl dog, after Jenny Thompson (the most medals won by an American female), would be good names. Thompson could also be a good boy’s name.

Verified ParticipantI also love Blue; he was one of my son’s favorite characters. My all-time favorite cartoon dog is Clifford the Big Red Dog, and I also love Max from The Grinch. Along with that, Scooby Doo, Mr. Pebody, and the Slinky Dog from Toy Story are big favorites.
