Sundays For Dogs is a premium dog food company that delivers shelf-stable fresh pup food right to your door. This healthy approach to dog chow comes at a high price compared to traditional kibble but is more afforadable than fresh-frozen meals. So, how much does Sundays For Dogs cost?

Because this brand factors in your furry friend’s unique nutritional needs, the answer is that your price depends on your dog. Sundays’ pricing ranges anywhere from around $12 to $100 or more per week. To give you a better idea of the cost you can expect to pay for your canine companion, I ran quotes for several different breeds and sizes for Sundays For Dogs. I also share my personal experience with their dog food.

Why Consider Air-Dried Dog Food?

Air-dried dog food is a fantastic option if you love the idea of fresh meals for your pup but don’t have enough room in your freezer or refrigerator. It’s also typically less expensive than fresh-frozen dog food. Also, many dogs love the jerky-like texture. Like fresh-frozen food, air-dried pup chow is typically high in protein and made with limited whole-food ingredients.

Sundays For Dogs combines human-grade proteins, grains, vegetables, and fruits and dries these ingredients at low temperatures to preserve nutrients and flavor. Then they add antioxidants, omega fatty acids, and probiotics to optimize nutritional health benefits (note: no vitamins or minerals are synthetic). This method removes the concern of overly processed ingredients that are subjected to high temperatures that some pup parents have about commercial kibble.

Although Sundays is expensive compared to most kibble, it’s more nutrient-dense. So, while the price is higher, you typically don’t have to feed your pup as much food per serving to meet their nutritional needs.

Sundays For Dogs Price

I ran quotes on Sunday’s website for several different dogs to give you a better idea of their pricing. However, I recommend you get a quote so you’ll know exactly what Sundays’ price is for your unique pup. Their profile quiz only takes a few minutes to complete, and you’re not required to make any commitment to see your quote.

Each quote below (as of May 2024) is for three-year-old, moderately active male dogs at a healthy weight with no health problems. I chose to represent a few of the most popular breeds in the U.S. This chart reflects pricing for their beef recipe, which is their least expensive option.

My Personal Experience With Sundays For Dogs

I received a month’s worth of Sundays’ chicken formula a couple of years ago. My dog, Tiny, absolutely loved it. He typically turned his nose up with any traditional kibble I tried, but not with Sundays. He gobbled up his bowl within minutes compared to his usual reaction to dry food (he often leaves his bowl largely uneaten for hours).

I also loved that my order came with customized feeding instructions based on my dog’s age, breed, weight, and activity level. I could also log into my account to see his feeding guidelines. The food comes in a tightly sealed bag that’s easy to reseal to keep it fresh.

Is Sundays For Dogs Worth The Cost?

Visit Sundays For Dogs’ Website

My dog loved this food, and I’ve seen many similar customer reviews about their pups gobbling it up. Most pup parents are quite satisfied with the nutritional benefits their dogs are getting with Sundays. The brand is expensive, especially for large dogs, but if you can fit it into your budget, I recommend Sundays — with a couple of caveats.

While pet parents say they and their dogs are happy with the food, it’s a different experience when it comes to reliable deliveries and customer service. Many current customers complain about inconsistent deliveries, meaning they don’t have enough dog food to feed their pups before another delivery arrives. Others complain about hard-to-reach and unhelpful customer service representatives. From what I’ve seen, the delivery delay issues are fairly recent and appear to be due to Sundays not being able to keep up with high demand. Hopefully, the situation will improve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are just a few questions pup owners often have when considering Sundays For Dogs. Don’t see yours here? Ask us in our comments.

Is A Sundays’ Subscription Flexible?

Yes, Sundays’ subscriptions are quite flexible. After your first purchase, all you have to do is go into your account to make any changes you want. You can adjust your dog profile, delivery frequency, order size, and recipe that your dog is receiving. Unfortunately, Sundays doesn’t allow you to choose more than one recipe. You can also cancel, pause, or skip anytime.

How Long Does Sundays Stay Fresh?

An upopened pack of Sundays For Dogs stays fresh for about 12 months. Once you open the package, the company says it won’t spoil for 6-8 weeks. You should store it in a cool, dry place in its original packaging, which is resealable.

What’s The Difference Between Dehydrated & Air-Dried Dog Food?

Both air-dried and dehydrated dog food are shelf-stable. However, the air-drying process retains more moisture in your dog’s food versus the dehydration process. For example, air-dried dog food typically has a jerky-like texture (like Sundays’ meals), while dehydrated dog food has more of a dry texture. Most dehydrated dog food requires adding moisture to make your pup’s food more palatable, while air-dried dog food typically contains enough moisture to feed it as is.

What’s The Difference Between Freeze-Dried And Air-Dried Dog Food?

Both air-dried and freeze-dried dog food are shelf-stable. The main differences between the two are the processing method and food texture. Freeze-dried dog food is first quickly frozen and subjected to a process called sublimation, which removes all the moisture using low pressure and temperatures. Freeze-dried food is never processed using temperatures above freezing. Compared to air-dried food’s jerky texture, freeze-dried food is crunchy and crumbly. It typically needs rehydration to improve the texture, while air-dried dog food is ready to serve.
