    Zesty Paws Calming Bites Review

Does your pup need some anxiety relief during car rides, vet visits, fireworks, or other stress-inducing situations?

Many customers (and our team at Canine Journal) find that Zesty Paws Calming Bites are highly effective.

    What’s Inside

These peanut butter-flavored soft chews contain nine calming ingredients, including:

    • A premium form of L-theanine
    • Ashwagandha
    • Chamomile, hemp seed powder, L-tryptophan, passionflower, and more

    Advanced & Puppy Formulas Available

The turkey-flavored Advanced Calming Bites include melatonin for extra support.

They also offer a puppy version safe for dogs as young as eight weeks old.

    Side Effects

Most dogs tolerate these chews well, but a few pet parents reported mild diarrhea or vomiting.

    Packaging Can Be Frustrating

The tab on the tub is tough to open — it’s not very finger-friendly, and this applies to any Zesty Paws product with similar packaging.
Canine Journal testers had to use needle nose pliers to break the seal.
A more accessible or resealable design would be a helpful improvement.

Our First-Hand Experience With Zesty Paws Calming Products

Zesty Paws sent me a few calming products to try with my dog, Sally.

We started with the Calming Flavor Infusions, a liquid supplement meant to keep dogs relaxed throughout the day. The packaging was messy, and Sally didn’t like the taste — I had to hide it in peanut butter or wet food. It was also hard to tell if it helped during fireworks, since she still seemed anxious at night.

What worked better for us were the Advanced Calming Bites.

Sally didn’t love the flavor at first, but once disguised in food, she ate them easily. They were less messy and noticeably more effective — she was much calmer as fireworks went off.

After seeing the results, I made doggy goody bags for neighbors, and several said their pups were calmer too. It’s now our Fourth of July tradition.

I’ve also used the original Calming Bites during storms, and they’ve been a reliable option for sudden stress.

    Did You Know?

You can order an at-home allergy test to help identify what’s triggering your dog’s symptoms.

These kits test for food and environmental sensitivities using a saliva or hair sample. Results arrive in a few weeks, and you can share them with your vet to guide treatment or diet changes.

Our First-Hand Experience With Zesty Paws Allergy & Immune Bites

I started giving Sally the Zesty Paws Allergy & Immune Bites after she began licking constantly due to seasonal allergies. Within a couple of weeks, I noticed less licking and scratching, and she seemed a lot more comfortable overall.

The chews are easy to give, and I like that they support both allergy relief and immune health. These have been a helpful addition to her routine during allergy season.

    Flavor & Formula

These peanut butter-flavored chews are designed to promote satiety and nutrient absorption without artificial fillers or additives.

They may be a great fit for dogs on restricted diets or needing a little extra help losing weight.

Our Personal Experience With Zesty Paws Weight Management Bites

We have been using Zesty Paws Vet Strength Weight Management Bites as part of Rio’s weight support routine. The formula contains ingredients to target different areas of weight management: energy, appetite, digestion, and fat metabolism.

Rio loves a good snack, and these treats help him feel full and ready to move.
He enjoys the taste, and I love that the product uses science-backed ingredients.

As with any supplement, this isn’t a magic weight-loss pill. You must ensure your dog eats a healthy, calorie-controlled diet and gets enough exercise.

Still, this is a great way to support your pup’s health goals and give them an edge in weight management.
